Action RPG Blighted has been delayed to 2027

DrinkBox Studios, the developer of Guacamelee! and Nobody Saves the World, has announced that its action RPG Blighted will now launch on Nintendo Switch 2 and PC (Steam) in 2027 instead of this fall.

The delay is to allow the team more time to polish and tune Blighted. You can find the full delay announcement from Drinkbox Studios below:

Drinkbox Studios (Guacamelee! series, Severed and Nobody Saves the World) announced as part of their most recent devlog that upcoming Action-RPG, Blighted, will now be releasing in 2027. The game was previously slated for a launch sometime this year, but the team needs a little bit more time polish and tune Blighted to be its best version before release:

“The team has been working hard (and growing!) but we feel we still need a bit more time to polish and tune the game before launch,” writes Drinkbox’s Josh Davis. “With this in mind, we’ve decided to shift our release to 2027. We appreciate your patience, and while we will have more news in the new year, we have one more really cool dev update before 2026 wraps that we think you'll want to keep an eye out for.”

Blighted also teased some new looks at its level design as part of the devlog, showcasing the Watcher's Peak hub and more. Drinkbox Studios will have more news on Blighted in 2027, with another developer update that fans and those curious about Blighted will want to look out for coming later this winter. :eyes:

Blighted is a Metroidvania Action-RPG where players, either alone or in co-op, battle their way through a psychedelic western nightmare to reclaim the memories of their people. Harnessing “Blight” by defeating enemies will change the world around you, modifying combat encounters, unlocking hidden paths, and more.
