Monster Hunter Wilds will target 30fps on Switch 2 with two visual modes docked and one handheld

Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter Wilds will target 30fps both docked and handheld on Switch 2 with docked play offering two modes.

The official game site lists the following output resolution and frame rate targets for Monster Hunter Wilds on Switch 2. I've included the base PS5 and Xbox Series S information as a point of comparison for Switch 2 from Capcom:

Platform mode Output Res FPS Target
PS5 Quality 4K 30
PS5 Balanced 4K 40
PS5 Frame Rate 4K 60
Switch 2 TV Quality 1260p 30
Switch 2 TV Frame Rate 1080p 30
Switch 2 HH 864p 30
Xbox Series S 1080p 30

Note that these are the output resolutions and frame rate targets. It remains to be seen what the internal resolution is for Switch 2 in its different modes. This chart from Capcom also doesn't list the option to uncap the frame rate which is not confirmed for every platform yet.

If you missed the recent news, a Monster Hunter Wilds Prologue Demo is now available following a recent update. The demo includes all weapon types and story content until Chapter 1-3 "To the Forest" with save data carrying over to the full release. In addition to the demo, Monster Hunter Wilds has gotten a permanent price drop with new DLC bundles available

Monster Hunter Wilds is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam). It is in development for Switch 2 release on December 4. Check out all our Monster Hunter Wilds guides here
