Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World demo is now available on Switch 2, Switch, PS5, Xbox, and PC Steam

During the Nintendo Direct, Square Enix released a new Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World trailer and free demo for all platforms.

You can download the demo here on PS5, here on Switch 1, here on Switch 2, here on Xbox, and here on Steam. Note that there is no upgrade path or save transfer for Switch 1 and 2. Those who play the demo will unlock the Wrangler's Bundle in the full game. This includes: Ring of Impulse x1, Bonus Ball x1, and Smoked Sirloin x5.

This trailer follows the State of Play showcase that focused on the Monster Wrangler. You can find prior trailers and more details  the Kingdom of Witherwood, The Waterwing Can, Roots of Creation in August,  monster recruitment, raising, fusion in July and characters, story, world in June. Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World is set to release on December 3 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch 1, and PC (Steam). The new trailer and more details can be found below from Square Enix:

A free consumer demo of Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World is now available on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Xbox on PC. The demo covers the first chapter of the game and introduces players to the RPG’s colorful cast of characters, engaging battle systems, the ability to synthesize new monsters and expansive exploration mechanics. Up to eight monsters recruited in the demo can be transferred to the full game* once it launches on Dec. 3, 2026.

The newest addition to the Dragon Quest Monsters series, Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World features a robust collection of more than 500 new and fan-favorite monsters, evolved graphics and a narrative that follows dual protagonists Bianca and Nera as they embark on a journey to bring the world of Witherwood back to life. No experience with past Dragon Quest Monsters games is needed to dive into this monstrously fun new adventure.

*Monsters transferred from the demo will be available from the depot in the full game, but they will begin at level 1 with their default talents.
