Mewgenics is now available digitally on PS5, Xbox Series, and Switch 2

Mewgenics is now available on PS5, Xbox Series, and Switch 2 digitally from Nicalis following its PC debut earlier this year.

Mewgenics had already crossed one million copies sold just on Steam and the new console ports feature Steam Cloud save syncing letting you bring over any progress over. I covered the PS5 and Switch 2 versions in my big comparison also going over the PC version here. A physical release is in the works for Q1 2027.

Nicalis officially announces that the critically acclaimed tactical strategy/role-playing game Mewgenics is now available on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Developed by Edmund McMillen (The Binding of Isaac) and Tyler Glaiel (The End Is Nigh), Mewgenics mixes turn-based tactical combat with a deep, generational cat-breeding system. Players build evolving cat lineages shaped by inherited traits, mutations and defects, then deploy them in grid-based battles where factors like positioning or item synergies can mean the difference between survival and extinction.
With the guidance of the mad scientist Dr. Beanies, players orchestrate cat breeds that can spiral into grotesque mutations with great powers and/or tragic flaws. As the game progresses, other cat fanciers are introduced, granting bonuses or new quests in exchange for cats with certain traits.
The console versions of Mewgenics are played with standard controls, but all three platforms also allow keyboard and mouse input, plus Joy-Con 2 mouse and touchscreen support on Nintendo Switch 2 and DualSense Touch Pad support on PS5. All three versions also support cross-save with the Steam version: Console players can transfer their save data to and from Steam Cloud.
Mewgenics is available now as a digital download on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S for a MSRP of $39.99. Physical versions of Mewgenics for Nintendo Switch 2 and PS5 are also in production with an expected release in Q1 2027.
