Super Robot Wars Y Anniversary Expansion Pack releases on August 5 after Version 1.4.0 update on August 4

Bandai Namco has revealed the last batch of additional content for Super Robot Wars Y at the Super Robot Wars 35th anniversary stream. The company will first release the Version 1.4.0 update patch for all players on August 4, followed by releasing the Anniversary Expansion Pack on August 5.

The Version 1.4.0 update will be available to all players regardless of whether they have purchased any DLC or not. This update will notably increase the maximum pilot level cap from 150 to 200, and add two celebratory stages based on the series' 35th anniversary and the SRW console games surpassing a total of 20 million units sold. It will also add a Boost game mode, which will have Normal difficulty enemy strengths but with doubled gains for EXP, MXP, and Credits, as well as halved costs for unit upgrades, pilot enhancements, and item purchases.

The Anniversary Expansion Pack will be available for purchase on the following day. Unlike the previous three DLC packs, this one does not add any new titles to the roster (apart from content from the 2nd season of Gundam: The Witch From Mercury), but it will still come with the following additions:

5 new playable units, including Gundam Calibarn for Suletta, Byakuya Gekkoei Sui for Lelouch, and the new addition of Re-Brasta T piloted by Crowe from Super Robot Wars Z series
1 new assist crew
12 new attacks, including new crossover combination attacks
33 new missions

Unlike the previous packs, the content in the Anniversary Expansion will be accessible separately from the Main Menu (just like Super Robot Wars T's Expansion Pack). Players can use a cleared save data to access the expansion, but they can also opt to access it right away without a prior save, in which case the game will provide a preset data where the pilots and units have been considerably upgraded by default.

Kota Toma also announced in the stream that this shall be the last content update for SRW Y, as his team will afterward focus on the development of Super Robot Wars Z II: Ruination Remastered.
