Beast of Reincarnation reveals Japanese voice cast and new gameplay
During the PC Gaming Show, Fictions and Game Freak revealed the Beast of Reincarnation voice cast and shared a new developer interview with gameplay screenshots.
Beast of Reincarnation will feature Yui Ishikawa, Miyuki Satou, Akio Otsuka, Sumire Morohoshi, Yu Kobayashi, Akira Ishida, Satoshi Mikami, Rina Satoh and Tetsuo Kanao. Beast of Reincarnation launches on August 4 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam).

During today’s PC Gaming Show, Japanese developer Game Freak, in partnership with publisher Fictions, unveiled new details for their highly anticipated action RPG Beast of Reincarnation, including the reveal of legendary voice talent Yui Ishikawa, who will portray Emma. Beast of Reincarnation, which will be launching on August 4, 2026, and will be available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and day one on Xbox Game Pass (Series X|S and Windows). Players will also be able to purchase the physical version of Beast of Reincarnation for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S day and date.
Alongside this announcement, we revealed the first wave of the Japanese voice cast, including Yui Ishikawa as protagonist Emma. In the latest interview, Director Kota Furushima also discusses the world setting, narrative themes, combat systems, and progression elements of the game.
"The story, combat, art, sound, technology, and the incredible performances of our voice cast - everything has culminated into this singular experience,” said Game Director Kota Furushima. “Our protagonist, Emma, lives her life devoid of her past memories and emotions. Desperate to understand what 'emotions' truly are, Emma encounters Coo, a companion who should naturally be her enemy, and together, they embark on a journey. By leveraging Emma and Koo's synergy, we successfully combined the strategic depth of commanding Coo's techniques with the thrilling real-time action of Emma's sword abilities. What awaits at journey's end? I sincerely hope you will experience the conclusion for yourself."
Full cast will include Yui Ishikawa, Miyuki Satou, Akio Otsuka, Sumire Morohoshi, Yu Kobayashi, Akira Ishida, Satoshi Mikami, Rina Satoh and Tetsuo Kanao.
Set in post-apocalyptic Japan, the story follows Emma, an outcast cursed as a "Blightborn," who has neither memories nor emotions, and Koo, her loyal canine companion. Players can experience a journey where they feel the reassurance and warmth of having a companion, as well as a sense of loneliness. An ever-changing world where dense forests suddenly erupt amidst the wasteland. By traveling and living together with her companion through this beautiful yet harsh world, Emma and Koo's bond strengthens, and with it, interesting powers bloom. In this world consumed by blight... what will Emma and Koo find at journey's end?
