Steins;Gate Re:Boot launches on August 20 for Xbox and Steam, October 29 for Switch 1/2 and PS5

Spike Chunsoft has announced that Steins;Gate Re:Boot will launch on August 20 for Xbox Series and PC (Steam) with the PS5, Switch 2, and Switch versions launching on October 29 in the West.

It will support English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese subtitle options with Japanese voices. In Japan, the console versions all launch on August 20. Spike Chunsoft's Western physical release will be available as a standard edition and a SteelBook Edition. The SteelBook Edition is priced at $69.99 while the Standard Edition (physical and digital) will be $59.99.

 Spike Chunsoft Inc. today announced pre-orders for the physical editions of the latest entry in the Science Adventure series, Steins;Gate Re:Boot have begun. Steins;Gate Re:Boot is scheduled to be released in North America and Europe on October 29, 2026.

Spike Chunsoft, Inc. will publish physical versions of Steins;Gate Re:Boot in both a Standard Edition and a SteelBook Edition for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 5. These editions will feature a new cover illustration by Character Designer huke. Additionally, each edition includes a sticker as a first-print-run bonus.

Scenarios with Improved Readability

Based on the scenario from Steins;Gate Elite, the story has been refined to be more evenly paced, with an overall smoother reading experience. Along with new dialogue and narrative text, a brand-new worldline and ending scenario have been added, bringing players a story never before seen. The game features a substantially expanded volume of text, delivering a richer story experience.

Newly Recorded Voices and Sound

All in-game voice lines have been newly recorded in Japanese, while the entire soundtrack has been remade by Composer Tsuyoshi Abo.

Revamped Graphics

All character art, backgrounds, and event still images have been completely redrawn from scratch, resulting in a major visual revamp. Compared to the original Xbox 360 version, the number of event still images has approximately doubled, while the number of background visuals has increased by roughly 20%. The expanded volume of artwork delivers an even more immersive experience.
