Dragon Quest VII Reimagined Follow-Up Trailer appeared at November 2025 State of Play

Square Enix has published a new trailer for Dragon Quest VII Reimagined at the November 2025 State of Play. It shows parts of the game's story scenes, which also include a brand-new episode.

The trailer notably has a specific focus on the blonde-haired Kiefer. Without spoiling too much of Dragon Quest VII's story, Reimagined will have a new episode where the player's party can meet an older version of Kiefer.

When Dragon Quest VII Reimagined launches on February 5, players will experience new story scenarios and reunite with a beloved party member. 

This bold, visually striking remake of 2000’s DRAGON QUEST VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past features new storylines, including one where you meet Kiefer as an adult and fight alongside him. Sneak into Rucker Castle at night and witness Kiefer’s powerful new abilities.

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined builds on the beloved original game, which finds its colorful cast of characters unlocking a one-of-a-kind storyline across multiple islands, discovering the adventure piece by piece. Both returning fans and new players will experience a standalone, epic single-player RPG adventure to save the world, now lovingly reimagined with modern gameplay, tightened pacing and a hand-crafted aesthetic that makes the game feel like a living storybook. 

Dragon Quest VII Reimagined is set to launch on Feb. 5, 2026, for Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
