Onimusha: Way of the Sword TGS 2025 event featured live gameplay by the main Japanese voice actor

Capcom held a public presentation event for Onimusha: Way of the Sword at Tokyo Game Show 2025. As most of the characters shown were already revealed earlier during the TGS 2025 Online Program, one of the main highlights of this event was the live gameplay footage from the TGS demo build by Yoshimasa Hosoya, the Japanese language voice actor for the game's protagonist, Miyamoto Musashi.

During the session, Producer Akihito Kadowaki noted that the demo build has two difficulty levels available. The easier difficulty level is being particularly made so that even the more casual players like Hosoya can pull off the flashy counterattacks.

The game's director Satoru Nihei would then take over to quickly finish the rest of the Kiyomizu-dera stage, including showcasing the pushable cart and making a quick work of the boss fight against Sasaki Ganryu.

Kadowaki and Nihei also announced earlier in the stream that their team is working directly with the Kyoto city administration to accurately produce stages based in Kyoto, which include the Kiyomizu-dera Temple.

The event stream in question is available to watch right below. Onimusha: Way of the Sword will be available worldwide for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam in 2026.
