Dune: Awakening Chapter 2 free update and Lost Harvest DLC are now available
Funcom has released the free Chapter 2 update and paid The Lost Harvest DLC for the open-world survival crafting game Dune: Awakening.
This Chapter 2 update, which continues the main story while adding new content, and the paid The Lost Harvest DLC, which adds stand-alone story content, both arrive alongside a free weekend and discount for the game.
Dune: Awakening is now available for PC (Steam). It will launch in 2026 for PlayStation and Xbox. Read our preview of the opening hours here.

Today, developer Funcom unearths new adventures and deadly wonders on the vast planet of Arrakis. Dune: Awakening, the open world survival game inspired by Frank Herbert’s Dune as well as Denis Villeneuve and Legendary Entertainment’s blockbuster movies, today receives its first free major content update, along with the Lost Harvest DLC.
From September 11-15, the vast deserts of Arrakis are open to all in the Dune: Awakening Free Weekend, and from September 11-22, the game is 20% off on Steam and third-party stores for the first time.
Chapter 2 Free Update
In Chapter 2, continue the journey after the revelations at the end of Act 3. Investigate gruesome murders and delve into the distant past. Re-customize your character, discover new contracts, items, character hairstyles and tattoos, and dynamic encounters that breathe more life into the ever-shifting deserts of Dune. Lost Harvest Paid DLC
Also available now for $12.99, the Lost Harvest DLC offers a complete standalone storyline. Dig deep into the lore of Dune and you may recoil at what stares back. The DLC also offers the new Dune Man building pieces, new decorations, cosmetic armor sets and weapons, swatches, and the Thumper emote. Lastly, the new treadwheel vehicle offers an alternative to the sandbike. It features unique animations and handling without significant gameplay advantage compared to its base game counterpart.
Dune: Awakening 20% Discount & Free Weekend
Play for free from September 11-15 in the Dune: Awakening Free Weekend. Pick any server to play with friends who own the game and enjoy everything it has to offer, including the Chapter 2 update, without restrictions and with all progress saved. Then, from September 11-22, pick up the game 20% off on Steam and third-party stores, its first ever discount.
Dune: Awakening Chapter 2 is available now for free, and the Lost Harvest DLC can be purchased for $12.99 or as part of the Season Pass ($24.99/€24.99). The Season Pass will see an additional two DLCs offering even more new areas, stories, and more.
