Dragon Quest VII Reimagined Lucky Panel Guide: How to play, all exclusive equipment and rewards available

When you reach the Alltrades Abbey Region and enter Pilgrim's Rest in Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, you'll be able to play a new version of a classic Dragon Quest mini-game in Lucky Panel. Here, you'll be able to earn a ton of rewards, mostly in terms of equipment and weapons, many of which you can achieve here far earlier than the same items become available in shops.

If you are looking to earn all achievements in Dragon Quest VII Reimagined, one of the trickiest to achieve is Heroic Hoarder, which requires you to collect all items available in the game. Not only is Lucky Panel a great source to find equipment, but it is also the exclusive home to several pieces of equipment that cannot be obtained anywhere else. So, if you are trying to 100% the game, then Lucky Panel is in your future.

• Lucky Panel is basically a matching game. Match the cards, and you can earn the item on the cards. There are three rounds available to start, with the best items more likely found in later rounds. The third version of Lucky Panel, available later in the game, adds a 4th round of matching.
• There are ultimately three different iterations of Lucky Panel in Dragon Quest VII Reimagined: one in Pilgrim's Rest (Past), one in Pilgrim's Rest (Present), and the final version in Pilgrim's Rest (Present) after completing the Elemental Spirits section of the game.
• For achievement hunters:
  • You can get the Spicy Level achievement here, called Proficient Paneller. This simply involves clearing round three of a game.
  • You can get the Metal Slime achievement here, called Platinum Paneller. The appearance of a Metal Slime card is random, so you simply have to keep playing until it appears.
  • You can get the Spicy Level achievement here, called Perfect Paneller. However, this is only available in the third and final version of Lucky Panel.
• Metal Slime panels may randomly appear, and they will raise the rank of a random item by two. They will escape only if you don’t select them before finding all matches.
• Treasure chests appear when taking on the Spicy Challenge (Round 3) after picking up a Rank 3 item in the Medium challenge (Round 2). While this can happen with low chance naturally, it is far more likely to happen if you pick up a Metal Slime panel.
• You can only play three games per day, then you’ll have to sleep at an Inn to reset the counter. The Inn in Pilgrim’s Rest overcharges, so consider sleeping elsewhere.
• Note that when you move from Round 1 to Round 2, or Round 2 to Round 3, you are forfeiting items earned in earlier rounds in order to play the later rounds. So, if you pick up an item you want to keep in Round 1 or Round 2, end the game instead of moving to a later round.
• The rank of the item is shown by the number of diamonds on the card.
• The lists below indicate which items I found in each of the three versions of Lucky Panel, as well as which items are exclusive.
  • Note that it is easiest to find rare/exclusive items in the third version of Lucky Panel. So, consider waiting until that version is available before spending an excessive amount of time here.

Lucky Panel Items Note: I acknowledge that the lists below may not be exhaustive of all possible items available, but they should give a good idea of the types of items available.

Lucky Panel (Version 1 - Past)

• For the first version of Lucky Panel, I believe the only true Lucky Panel exclusive items are Cottontail Costume and Elevating Shoes. However, the Elevating Shoes are much easier to get in a later version of Lucky Panel.
