Monster Hunter Wilds roadmap: what updates are coming?

As of right now - June 27, Capcom has announced more major free Title Updates for Monster Hunter Wilds. The first two Title Updates are now live with Title Update 3 coming next week. We also have Seasonal Events planned with the game's gathering hub set to change visually. The first event, Festival of Accord: Blossomdance, recently ended as well. Details for that are here. The second one was the Festival of Accord: Flamefete. Read about that here. Beyond that, we have two more planned for this year.

Let's have a look at what's been announced and released so far for Monster Hunter Wilds going over major free Title Updates and events.

What's Included in Title Update 1 for MH Wilds?

Title Update 1 is now available. It is set to bring in Mizutsune, Zoh Shia's repeatable quest, Arch-tempered Rey Dau, The Grand Hub (gathering hub), more Event Quests, Arena Quests, and more. Details for this from Capcom are below:

Fan-favorite monster Mizutsune is back in the Forbidden Lands. Starting at Hunter Rank 21, players can unlock the mission to hunt Mizutsune by speaking with Kanya in the Scarlet Forest, but hunters should prepare for the leviathan’s graceful attacks and immobilizing bubbles or risk ending up in the wash.

Zoh Shia rises once more and is available in repeatable hunts. The Hunter Rank 50 mark will unlock a mission to once again hunt Zoh Shia, after which the fearsome monster will appear during the Wyvern’s Wakening in the Ruins of Wyveria for additional hunts and the ability to gather Zoh Shia parts for high-rank hunter and Palico equipment.

The Grand Hub gathering area opens its doors to hunters and provides more fun ways for hunters to socialize. The Grand Hub is unlockable at Hunter Rank 16+ by talking to Tetsuzan in the upper area of Suja, Peaks of Accord.

Time-based competition quests can be accepted at the Arena Quest Counter and allow teams of hunters to complete quests as fast as possible using specified equipment. Race for the fastest time against other hunters across the world in the Arena, Challenge, and Free Challenge Quests, then check the Expedition Record Board at the entrance of the Grand Hub to view global rankings, limited bounties, and more.

What's Included in Title Update 2 for MH Wilds?

Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2 is now available. The update brought in Lagiacrus with special underwater actions available to hunters. Seregios also joined in with this update following its debut in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate for the West. Both Lagiacrus and Seregios will also appear as 8★ Tempered monsters when Title Update 2 for hunters at HR41 and above. Arch-tempered Uth Duna will be available from July 30 as a limited-time Event Quest and a Free Challenge Quest. Layered Weapons will also be available with this quest alongside new Support Hunters like Mina, the Festival of Accord: Flamefete, and a Monster Hunter Wilds x Fender collaboration planned for August 27. Details from Capcom are below:

Following its last appearance in Monster Hunter™ Generations Ultimate, Lagiacrus makes a triumphant return in Monster Hunter Wilds. Director Yuya Tokuda was ecstatic to share more about the first flagship monster he helped design from start to finish, and how they've incorporated special underwater actions for part of your battle with this Leviathan in Monster Hunter Wilds. Seregios, a fast-moving wyvern that made its Western debut in Monster Hunter™ 4 Ultimate will also be soaring into the Forbidden Lands in Title Update 2.

This agile aerialist has been upgraded for Monster Hunter Wilds to hone hunters’ reflexes in a fast-moving and hard-hitting dance of blows. After completing their initial main missions, both Lagiacrus and Seregios will also appear as 8★ Tempered monsters when Title Update 2 launches on June 30 for hunters HR41 and above. Starting July 30, Arch-tempered Uth Duna will also arrive as a limited-time Event Quest and a Free Challenge Quest and will reward the new armor sets Uth Duna γ and Felyne Uth Duna γ to hunters able to weather the storm.

Fashion hunters looking to meld form and function, look no further! Starting in Title Update 2, crafting the final weapon in a tree, Rarity 8 Artian weapons, and High-Rank Palico weapons will unlock that design as Layered Weapon. Once hunters have perfected their fit they can enhance and show off their designs with new photo mode options such as brightness settings and filter effects, alongside the ability to hide their Handler, Palico, Seikret, and more in the Character Display tab. Hunters can also look forward to new support options while out in the field, with the inquisitive biologist Erik able to fill in for Alma as the Avis unit’s handler and the Sword & Shield wielding Support Hunter Mina joining from Vespae Unit. Title Update 2 also adds the option for hunters to choose which Support Hunters they summon to form an ideal party composition.

Starting July 23, hunters can look forward to a new seasonal celebration with the arrival of The Festival of Accord: Flamefete. This celebration includes limited-time new Grand Hub decorations, meals, limited-time equipment, gestures, and more! The Monster Hunter Rathalos Telecaster®, created by the legendary guitar-maker Fender to celebrate the Monster Hunter™ 20th anniversary, makes an appearance in Monster Hunter Wilds starting August 27 as an in-game gesture that can be obtained through a limited-time Event Quest! Title Update 2 will also introduce new paid and free DLC, including four free dance gestures, additional paid DLC, and the release of Cosmetic DLC Pack 2 which is included in the Premium Deluxe Edition and Cosmetic DLC pass for Monster Hunter Wilds.

What's Included in Title Update 3 for MH Wilds?

Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 3, out now, brings in the Monster Hunter Wilds x Final Fantasy XIV collaboration. This collaboration will be available permanently. The new monster is Omega Planetes with a new Seasonal Event also coming in late September. You can find screenshots from the collaboration below:

The crossover also includes two jobs from FINAL FANTASY XIV to help defend the Forbidden Lands: the Dark Knight and Pictomancer. The Dark Knight harnesses the power of darkness to unleash devastating techniques using a two-handed sword, while Pictomancers bring artistic creations to life to defeat foes. Hunters can take on the role of a Dark Knight by equipping the Bale Armor α and activating the “Soul of the Dark Knight” series skill to unlock “The Blackest Night” ability. Additionally, players can equip the “Shadowbringer” Great Sword to unlock an exclusive weapon skill. Lastly, the “Soul of the Pictomancer” item enables hunters to cast pictomancy spells such as Pom Motif from their item pouch. Hunters can also look forward to new Palico and Seikret gear as well as new cosmetic rewards like a pendant and gesture.

Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 3 also introduces Arch-tempered Nu Udra as a permanent Event Quest with exclusive materials for crafting equipment. Title Update 3 features new quests offering rarity 8 Artian materials, a limited-time Seregios Challenge Quest, and an Arch-tempered Nu Udra Free Challenge Quest. Additionally, the update includes four nostalgic gestures as free DLC, alongside the release of Cosmetic DLC Pack 3 and other paid DLC.

Looking ahead, hunters can participate in the Festival of Accord: Dreamspell this fall. The Grand Hub will be taken over with delightfully eerie decorations and feature new Event Quests and in-game rewards. Title Update 4 arrives in December and will bring the fearsome Gogmazios to the Forbidden Lands alongside additional end-game content.

What's Included in Title Update 4 for MH Wilds?

Free Title Update 4 is scheduled for this December. This update includes a new monster, Gogmazios, as well as more challenging elements to expand the end-game content. Capcom is also looking into ensuring that Artian weapons players have crafted remain valuable. More info on this will be revealed in the future leading into Title Update 4.

What's Coming in 2025 for MH Wilds?

With Capcom confirming (as we all expected) that support will continue after the current free title updates, we just had the Street Fighter 6 special collaboration and a Fender one also available right now. Once we actually learn more about the fourth major updates, we will have a better idea on what to expect after Winter and even beyond.
